The love that remains behind...

The Goddess Diaries, August 23, 2026

As I sit on my back deck on this Sunday morning, I’m listening to the sounds of insects and birds, the life of the small town in which I live, dogs barking, and a sweet little hummingbird that keeps chipping behind me. I think she may want the flowers on my fuchsia tree, but I’ve made her some fresh sugar water that’s cooling in the refrigerator.

This has been a week of working with Sekhmet, and Hathor for my online communities, and the magic of Time where loved ones have passed, celebrations are made to remember their life, and we gather together to share memories and grieve in our own ways. My dear friend, Linda, passed away 5 years ago yesterday and we had a celebration of life yesterday for my sister-in-law who recently passed. There were lots of memories shared, many tears filled our eyes, and our hearts hurt but were also full of the love between us and our loved on in spirit.

I recently had the opportunity to watch a movie called, The Sheep Detectives, with my sweet dog Mabel (she fell asleep!), and in it, the sheep believe that when sheep die they become clouds. While we were driving to the celebration of life I was thinking about this and looked up into the sky at the large fluffy clouds and it appeared to be a horse. Maybe it was a stretch of the imagination, but I took it as a lovely sign of love from my horse, Fred, because I miss her, too.

So as I sit here on a Sunday morning on my back deck with Mabel listening to the world go on around me and I’m visited by the sweet little hummingbird, it’s been a weekend of little reminders to live life, #lovethelifeyoulive and #livethelifeyoulove; do the things you want to do, make time for others in your life, find your joy and don’t let it go, find your purpose and live it, and celebrate joy with others. Leave your mark in positive and transformative ways.

There’s probably more but that’s all I think I have in me to write today.
