And suddenly, there is magic everywhere
The Goddess Diaries, August 30, 2026
Where to even begin with the magic that softly unfolds sending ripples and waves through the heart of everything it touches? The heart, the magic, the transformative opportunities within the lunar eclipse, Sekhmet, joy, Hathor, love, meditations, teachings, and revelations all came together in the juiciest and delicious blend of awe. And trust me, I drank it in!
It began years ago when I learned the art of meditation, self love, and intuition. As I’ve moved through Life, these gifts and practices have given me much support and helpful insight and they have once again become even stronger than before. I often wonder about the magic of that and how it’s possible….perhaps the mystery is held in “I’m-possible”, or the rich dark soil that comes from an inundation of experiences that bring opportunities for deeper healing.
Thursday evening was blessed by a lunar eclipse. I didn’t want to miss it, but it peaked at midnight and I was already dreaming. Before I went to sleep, however, I leaned into the energy of the sun and moon and earth, light and shadows and recorded the meditation with Sekhmet for the Solar Plexus Chakra and the 3rd Arrow of the Year. Finding the perfect time to do that seemed to be met with resistance until Thursday morning when I was feeling into the resistance and Sekhmet reminded me of the eclipse that night…the perfect time! As I recorded the meditation, I could feel the power of her words and the energy of the shadow beginning to cover the moon outside.
Friday began my weekend and I was able to relax into the flow of the morning, have my coffee, light my candle and sit and write. It was a day I had anticipated all week as I did my daily responsibilities and as always, to get me through, I looked for the things that filled my heart with joy….the way Mabel wakes up all adorable, rubbing her eyes with her paws and yawning; the light of the morning sun on a new day; the chipping of the hummingbird at her feeder; the smell of my sweet horse, all warm and cozy mixed with the scent of hay and straw. The day was spent with quality time with my daughter and granddaughter playing Disney Monopoly and having a special lunch on the couch together. A special day filled with hours that went by so quickly but I stretched into every minute of them as much as possible.
As Saturday dawned, I continued to lean into the teachings of the 4th Arrow of the Year…the heart chakra…and the day unfolded from the heart itself. It began that morning when I needed to help at the barn because my farrier was sick and rescheduled and the barn help was sick, leaving the barn owner to do everything alone. I was happy to help….she does so much to look so lovingly after all the horses. She was having a special lunch with one of the ladies who lost her horse of 30 years and I was scheduled to have lunch with my niece and great-niece, so we worked together and just got things done.
As I was leading my horse back in from her turnout, I was so struck by the themes of the heart chakra that were already filling the day - the giving and receiving love, doing things that make your heart happy, being there for others when their heart is broken, and being with family.
When we learn to listen to the moments of our lives, our spiritual practices start speaking to us.
We begin to see how they are so much more meaningful when we start recognizing the ways they thread through the moments in our lives.
This is one of the greatest gifts of these practices. They don't simply stay on the meditation cushion or within the pages of a course. They begin to weave themselves into the fabric of everyday Life, appearing in the most unexpected places and moments….arriving as resistance, asking us to pause and listen more deeply. They arrive as an insight that suddenly makes everything make sense, or they somehow find their way into something as simple yet powerful as helping someone at the barn.
There was love in that morning. Love in giving my time when it was needed. Love in being there for someone whose heart was hurting. Love in caring for the horses. Love in being part of this little community of people who love these beautiful creatures as much as I do.
All of this magic is what I love most about this journey. The more I listen, the more I notice. The more I notice, the more Life reveals itself….and suddenly, there is magic everywhere.
You can simply begin by listening….
